SHINGLE ROOF
Roof shingles are a roof covering consisting of individual overlapping elements. These elements are normally flat rectangular shapes that are laid in rows without the side edges overlapping, a single layer is used to ensure a water-resistant result. Shingles are laid from the bottom edge of the roof up, with the bottom edge of each row overlapping the previous row by about one third its length. Historically, at the roof ridge there was a cap consisting of copper or lead sheeting which in modern times has been substituted by shingles with a plastic underlay.

» Asphalt shingles
Made from layers of asphalt and fiberglass materials with a granulated surface. There are several types of asphalt singles including 3-Tab, T-Lock (now discontinued), Dimensional and Laminate. There are many styles of dimensional shingles from single laminate inexpensive shingles to multi laminate heavy duty shingles made to look like wood shake or slate. Asphalt shingles come with roof warranties from 20 to 50 years or lifetime. They are tested to withstand wind up to 130 MPH depending on the type and style:
  • 3- tab shingle
3-tab shingle3-tab shingles are standard-size fiberglass shingles offered in a wide variety of colors to complement the exterior design of any home. Usually available with 20 to 30 years warranty term.

» Architectural shingle
Architectural shingleArchitectural shingles are modeled after the look of cedar shake shingles without the fire hazard, insect problems, rotting, and expense. An architectural shingle can increase the appeal and re-sale value of your home. Other advantages include heavier weight and thicker (reducing blow-offs), less potential for curling, and they have a textured uneven look for a clean appearance when applied over badly deteriorated roofing. Material warranty varies between 30years to Lifetime.

» Wood shake shingle
Wood shake shingleWood shingles have been used for hundreds of years. They have proven their longevity in actual weather conditions, in all types of climates. Their insulative quality, aesthetic appeal, and wind and impact resistance make wood shingles a good choice for your roofing and siding material.

SLATE ROOF

Slate RoofConsidered one of the longest lasting roofing materials, slate can endure 50 to more than 100 years. A very brittle and expensive roof. Slate requires no maintenance and weathers naturally. Colors vary depending upon where the slate is mined.

TILE ROOF
Tile RoofAesthetically pleasing, concrete and clay tile are frequently chosen as roof protection and accentuation with southwest residential and commercial architecture. Tiles are hard and brittle, poorly suited for places where tree limbs can fall on a house's roof, but not subject to deterioration due to rotting.
